LONDON QUOTATIONS. LONDON, June 5. Butter is steady. New Zealand choicest, salted, 168 sto 170 s per cwt; Australian, 158 s to 160 s; tinsalted scarce at about 8s to 10s premium. Danish is at about 180 a. Cheese is firm, New Zealand 80s to 88s per cwt; Australian, 78s to 80s.—A. and N.Z. cable. STOCK MARKET. Levin and Co., Ltd., report on stock sales for week ending June 7th, 1924: At Bulls on Monday wo had a good yarding of sheep principally lambs, which were in keen demand and sold readily. A small yarding of cattle and pigs sold at late rates. Quotations: Light fat 2-ths 28s 9d, medium ewo lambs 235, 19s 3d; m.s. lambs 23s lOd; wether lambs 18s, 20s 3d, 20s Id, 21s 6d; small b.f. lambs 15s: cull lambs lis 2d, lis 7d ; porkers 275: slips 16s 6d: light fat cows £2 Bs, £3 ss, £3 7s 6d: store cows £1 to 30s. On Wednesday at Glen Oroua wo held a clearing sale of 50 dairy cows on account of Mr W. Osborne, which was well attended. The cows were Jersey and Jersey cross and in good condition. There was fair competition throughout, prices ranging from £2 10s to £ls, with an average of £8 8s; 13 heifers spring calvers sold from £3 8s to £6. The pigs were in good demand, low condition sows to farrow bringing £4 ss, boar 12s 6d, 18 slips 14s 6d to 255, 2-cow milking plant £54, separator £l6, milk cans 255. At Feilding on Friday wo had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. Fat sheep were of medium quality and sold well. Hoggets were in very keen demand, and prices were again in advance of previous week's quotes. Breeding ewes, of which some good pens were yarded, sold at tatc rates. There was a good yarding of fat cattle, chiefly bullocks of fair quality, which were in poor demand, the bulk being passed in at auction. Dairy stock were dull of sale and prices low. LONDON FROZEN MEAT MARKET. Levin and Co.. Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 6th June, 1924. The market is steady. BEEKEEPERS' CONFERENCE. NEW OFFICERS ELECTED. CIIRISTCHURCH, June 6. The Beekeepers' Conference has concluded. It was decided to hold the next annual conference at Greymouth, but the date was left for the executive to decide upon. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr E. R. Bates; vice-president, Mr G. K Kitchingham; executive, Messrs J. Rentoul, A. 11. Davies, R. A. Gibb, and O. A. Pope. SALE OP REID'S ESTATES. After 40 years of successful farming, Mv W. Reid of Feilding has instructed Abraham and Williams Ltd.. to offer by auction at Drill Hall, Feilding, on Saturday, 14th June his three very line estates. They are all situated within two miles of Feilding and the 214 acres at Makino is a particularly good property. It has been subdivided into eight sections, in areas from 11 to 48 acres, and should appeal to the man of small means who wants to get hold of land of good qualify and within his capability of successfully farming without being troubled with outside labour. The Hillden estate of 931 acres, is subdivided into four very nice farms in areas from 178 to 290 acres, and the third estate (Merry Hill) comprises 170 acres to be sold in one block.
