The ship's company of 11.M.5. Hood entertained a large number of guests at an "At Home" yesterday afternoon, when the vessel was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Dancing on the spacious decks, which were shaded by. the ceremonial awnings, was the main source of entertainment. The souvenir programmes were excellently got-up and displayed on the cover-page was a reproduction of the vessel in the smoke of which could be seen the outline of H.M.S. Victpry. As showing the sailors' partiality for the foxtrot it may be stated that this dance figured on the programme seven times, tne total number of items being 14. Mesdames J. MacFerran. P. J. Wilson and A. Russell and Miss D. Moore, of Palmerston North, were amongst the guests.
