FEILDING MOTOR RACES.
SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL MEETING. .An interesting afternoon's sport was provided at the Feilding Jockey Club's racecourse on Saturday afternoon, when tho annual motor cycle race meeting of tho Feilding Motor dub was conducted. Wetther conditions remained favourable until near the conclusion of the programme, when rain commenced to fall, and some events were cancelled on account of the dangerous nature of the track. Tho majoriry of the races, however, were decided, some* thrilling contests resulting. Results were as follow : Novice race, 5 laps.—Gulbranson (60secs) 1 B. Dewe (40sec) 2, R. C. Harford (45 sec) 3. Time, 6.14 2-5. Also started : R.Anderson (45sec) and S. Matthews (80scc). Tho start saw the placed riders get away well, the others experiencing engine trouble. There was a close finishing dash for the first place. Sports Handicap, 10 laps.'—R. Radford (90soc) 1, W. W. Davey (90sec) 2, P. Coleman (scr) 3. Also started: D. C. Managh (20sec), E. E. Harford (70sec), B. Dewc (oOsec), A. Radford (lOOsec), R. J. Jones II. Hansen (120 sec), P. H. Donavan (120 sec), and P. Mason (160 sec). Time, lOmin. 40secs. IVlanagh's tussle with Coleman in this race was spoiled by the former experiencing engine trouble, and the latter failed to wipe out tho 90secs. handicap of the two placed men. Classic Handicap, 6 laps.—R. J. Jones (65sec) 1, H. H. Mollor (25sec) 2, W. W. Davey (55see) 3. Also started: F. H. Champion (55sec), A. Radford (60sec), P. H. Donavan (TOsce), S. Matthews (95sec), and P. Mason (95sec). Time, 6min. 45 l-ssee. Jones won easily. Moller just beat Davey by a wheel for second place. Feilding Handicap, 12 laps.—P. Coleman (scr). 1, E. E. Harford (lOOsec) 2, H. H. Moller (80sec) 3. Also started: D. C. Managh (25sec), R. Radford (95sec), W. W. Davey (HOsec), A. Radford (150 sec), R. J. Jones (95sec) and G. H. Jones (160 sec). . Time, 13min. 3 3-ssec. Coleman rode ,a splendid race, and in the seventh lap had passed all but Harford, who was sending his light-weight along in good style.' The champion took the lead in tho last round and won by a couple of furlongs. Moller was a close third to Harford and R. Jones was fourth. Oroua Handicap, 6 laps.—G. H. Jones (90sec) 1, P. Mason (95scc) 2, R. J. Jones (65secj 3. Also started: P. Coleman (scr), H. H. Moller (35sec), E. E. Harford (40 sec), B. F. O'Brien (50sec). B. Dewo (50 sec), R. Radford (55sec), W. W. Davev (55-ec), A. Radford (60see), P. Donavan (70sec). S. Matthews (95see), V. Sussex (50 sec). Time, 7min. 19 l-ssec. This was the biggest field of the day. Coleman did not get away well, and had no chance of catching the limit men. Sussex fell, his machine somersaulting over him, but he was not injured. Kowhai Handicap, 8 laps.—E. E. Harford (55sec) 1, P. Coleman (scr) 2, B. Dcwe (65sec) 3. Also started: D. C. Managh (15sec), E. ]•:. O'Brien (65sec), W. W. Davev (70sec), A. Radford (80sec), R. J. Jones (90sec), G. H. Jones (120 sec), H. H. Moller (50sec), P. .Mason (loOsec). Time, ■9.33. Rain had commenced to fall and the greasy nature of the track caused some dangerous skids in this race, and it was deemed unwiso to complete the programme.
