BURNEY SCHEME.

IMPERIAL AIRSHIPS FAVOURED. • Received March 19, 11.25 a.m. LONDON. March 18. Mr Ashbolt stated that the Government strongly favours the establishment of Imperial airships. Its opposition to the Burney scheme does not mean scrapping the Empire air line. It is understood that an alternative scheme is at present being prepared and that when completed it is likely to be submitted, together with the Burney scheme, for a free vote of Parliament.—A. and N.Z. cable.
