PROLONGATION OF LIFE.
REJUVENATION TREATMENT.
Received March 17, 8.55 a.m. NEW YORK, March 16.
Dr Harry Benjamin, a noted surgeon, addressing the New York Academy ot Medicine, informed his hearers that he had administered the so-called rejuvenation treatment to 70 New York women prominent in stage, society and art circles, the results being that 75 per cent, were successful. Dr Benjamin declares that the treatment should be accurately described as the prolongation of life, and while based upon the findings of the Viennese surgeon, Dr Steinbach, it consists of the application of x-ray and electrical energy. 'The majority of the patients had already reached their 50tfi year and they found that their strength was unequal to tho tasks. Dr Benjamin claims no sensational success, saying that in many cases a month s treatment was required before the quickening stream resulted. He denied that beauty returns and declared that only the physical and nervous systems quickened. Forty-five was the ideal age for treatment. —A. and N.Z. cable.
