A mysterious tragedy occurred when a girl named Hilda Jones, aged Id, Was shot dead yesterday -afternoon in some city offices where she was employed. A youth named Herbert Neale, aged 19, with whom Miss Jones had been keeping company, was found outside the office in a fainting condition with a rifle alongside him containing four live and one discharged cartridge. Neale was removed to hospital.—Press Association. CHARGE OF MURDER. Received March 18, 10.25„ a.ill. ADELAIDE, March 18. Neale has been charged with the mruder of Miss Jones. The .police allege that he made a that lie was infatuated with Miss Jones and became madly jealous and afraid that someone else would get her.' It is alleged that lie stated that he brought the rifle to work that morning to do the shooting. A clerk who worked with Miss Jones said that during the luncheon hour ho heard a report and a fall. He saw Miss Jones lying on the floor and Neale holding a smoking rifle. When the police arrived Neale pointed the rifle at them and they rushed in just in time to catch him as he fainted.—Press Association.
