HIGHWAYS BOARD.

KAIRANGA TALLIES

The engineer (Mr A. 11. M. Wright) reported at to-day’s meeting of the Kairanga County Council that, as instructed, tallies had been taken 'on six different roads over a period of 14 days of 24 hours each. These tallies concluded on Sunday night. The particulars taken on four toads included classification of vehicle, etc., whether inward or outward bound, and whether registered locally or outside. In the case of the two other roads, the latter particulars were omitted, as both roads were taken from one tally point. On Rangitikei line, Foxton line and Napier road the necessary particulars required by the Highway Board as regards culverts, bridges," formation, surfacing, etc., had been obtained.
