WAGES OF SEAMEN.

DEMANDS BY GERMANS, LONDON, Jam 30. Mr Havelock Wilson, on behalf of the National Seamen’s and Firemen’s Union, has telegraphed to Mr MacDonald pointing out that 1200 seamen on German vessels trading to the United Kingdom struck against the low wage of £3 compared with £9 paid by the British and other shipowners, consequently German ships leaving British ports are seriously undermanned, endangering other vessels trading in British waters. Mr Wilson also states that cases have been brought under the notice of the Board of Trade, but tho Government has taken no action to prevent infringement of the law, which he urges should be impartially applied.—A. and N.Z. cable.
