INDIA AND THE LEACUE.
DELHI, July 17. The Assembly debated an unofficial resolution moved by an Endean member in favour of the appointmont of a conimitteo to consider tho question of the continuance of the iinancial grant to tho League of Nations us a protest against the treatment of Indians in inundated territories and tho Pacific Islands. The leaders of tho Nationalists and Labourites, both former representatives at tho League, and othor membefs strongly opposed tho resolution, stressing tho usefulness of the league and pointing out that the recent labour legislation in India was largely due to the eiforta of tho international labour organisation forming part of the machinery of the league. Tfiey considered the resolution premature and misconceived, and that the interests of the coloured races would be likely to suffer if India withdrew from tho league. 'The motion was withdrawn.—Reuter.
