J: G., Coates stated that the running of a. limited express between Auckland and Wellington would be considered when the traffic warranted it; -.hat the Government Was considering the question of erecting a high power wireless station in New Zealand capable of communicating • with a similar station in England. The Hon. 0. J. Parr stated that the Government was considering the question of providing superannuation for nurses and hospital staffs; that the Government wa3 prepared to set up, a Commission to enquire into the existing lunacy laws, with the -view to revising the Mime where it was found desirable;, that efforts had been made to obtain supplies of Spahlinger iserum and vaccine for testing purposes, but sO far unsuccessfully. The Hon. G. J. Anderson stated that it was not proposed to amend the legislation providing for widows' pensions to enable these to be extended to the wives suffering from incurable or prolongeu illnesses. . ' , ; , . Sir R. Hi Rhodes stated that tht establishment of a school of forestry had been deferred owing to the need for economy in the publio expenditure, and also to the fact that the location of the proposed school bad not yet boon decided. The Hon. > Nosworthy stated that no orders hade been issued by the Governmant to preclude the migration of people from South and. West Ireland to this Dominion, but that such residents are not eligible for assisted passages because the Government of. Southern Ireland has not subscribed to the provisions of the Empire Settlement Act 1922 Tke Hon. J..G. Ooates stated that the traffic on the South Island lines does not justify tho running of two expresses daily. The existing services provide for all reasonable present requirements.
