GREAT FIRE IN CHINA.
FORBIDDEN CITY SWEPT
HISTORICAL HALL DESTROYED
Received June 28, 8.45 a.m. PEKIN, June 27. A fire, which is believed to be of incendiary origin, swept the forbidden city, destroying tho ancient imperial historical hall containing the ancestral relies of all the Emperors. Dozens of the surrounding buildings were razed and the records of tho oldest- dynasties destroyed. —A. and N.Z. cable.
