OUTBREAK OF SMALLPOX
SENSATIONAL SITUATION.
SPREAD OF THE DISEASE
Received June 23, 8.45 a.m. LONDON, June 22. The sensational situation concerning tho smallpox outbreak at Gloucester lies in the fact that the authorities, knowing they had an epidemic, permitted a trade fair to be hold which thousands from all parts of the country attended.
Accusations have been made that there has been an attempt to conceal the position because it would be detrimental to the trade of the city. Cases which are believed to have had their source in Gloucester have been reported in London, Liverpool and Cardiff.—-A, and N.Z, cable.
