MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
NOMINATIONS RECEIVED.
The followinsg nominations in connection with the forthcoming municipal and other elections had been received by the Returning odiccr, Mr J, R. Bardie, at noon today:— , , Borough Council.—-Messrs A. J. Graham, M, A. Eliott and F. W. Hubbard. Power Board.—Mr M. A. Eliott.
Nominations close at 12 noon on Monday next at the town clerk’s office, for the positions of Mayor and Borough Councillors of Palmerston North, representatives of the borough ,on the Hospital Board, and representatives of the borough on the MaiiawaiuOroua Electric Power Board, Air Bardic told a reporter that he expected a big rush of papers on Mondoy. Crs. Spooner and Needham have decided not to again seek election to tho Borough Council. Cr. Spooner has had six years’ experience as a councillor, Crs. Oram and West will be candidates for a further term of office.
A meeting of Mr S. R Lancaster’s committee in connection witht the fori Incoming Mayoral election was held last night, Air G. W. Mills presiding. Tho election programme was discussed, and details of the campaign with reference to the candidate’s meetings were dealt: with.
