EVENTS ON THE SHOWGROUNDS,
The popular annual Caledonian spoils gathering opened at the Shotygrounds this morning, when visitors were present from uil parts of the North Island. The weather Conditions were, however, unfavourable, heavy intermittent showers marring to soino extent the enjoyable nature of the fixture, although 'the sun shoivo through brilliantly at intervals. All tlib events attracted big entries. Following are the events up to the time of the "Standard" going to press:— PRIMARY SCHOOL EVENTS.
