ATTEMPTED BURGLARY.

LOCAL PREMISES ENTERED.

A burglarious entry attended by some unusual features was effected at the residence of Mr A. R. Rush. Park Toad, last night It is understood that during the-. absence from their residence of Mr and Mrs Rush for a short period, a neighbour noticed a light in the premises, and on proceeding to investigate -saw a man jump, barefooted from one of the windows and run from the house. The neighbour gave chase, and although he grasped the leg 01 the man the latter made good his escape,, minus his footwear, which was found about, the premises. It was later discovered that the premises had been ransacked, though little or nothing of value was taken Thg matter has been placed in the hands of the police. .___
