CONFERENCE OF DRUIDS.

CONCLUDING BUSINESS. The 1923 conference of the North Island Grand Lodge of Druids, which has been the longest in the history of the order, concluded last evening. The following building scheme, and conditions, submitted by the Grand Lodge executive, wore approved;—l Term 20 years; interest 7 per cent, reducible to 6 per cent if paid within 14 days of due date; repayment of loan by quartorly instalments of £2 6s 7d per £IOO, with rebate of 5s if paid on due date; no right of re-payment except as stated above. 2. A flat and table mortgage; table mortgage to be in accordance with No. 1; flat mortgage to be at the current rate of interest for a period of 5 years, with right of repayment of not less than £lO, or more than £3O on any quarter day. 3. flat mortgage at current rate of interest (Nos. 1, 2 and 3 only concern members of the society). 4. A flat mortgage at current rates. of interest on a valuation not to exceed 60 per cent, for a. term of 5 years; that when money is available members are to be accommodated before outsiders. The Grand Lodge trustees can only lend up to twothirds of the capital value on first-class freehold security, on a valuation made by a valuer appointed by the Grand Lodge trustees, the applicant to pay the valuation fee at the time the valuation is made. The valuation becomes the sole property of the Grand Lodge trustees. The Grand Lodge office plans were approved and the executive instructed to proceed at once with the erection of the building. GENERAL. An old age pension scheme, submitted by the executive, was not supported. P.G.P. Bro. Simpson, of Canterbury, was appointed to represent the North Island Grand Lodge at the worlds conference to be held at Stockholm in September next. The Grand Lodges of Otago, Canterbury and Southland will also bo represented by Bro. Simpson. , To Kuiti was decided upon as the venue of the next conference. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The business concluded with the installation of officers, who were elected as fol-lows:-Grand President, Bro. G. Tudehopo (Napier); Grand Vice-President, Bro. h. Price (Wellington); Grand Guardian, Bro. T Wilson (Auckland); Grand Treasurer, Bro. J. Laughton (Wellington); Grand Lodge Trustee, Bro. Mawhinoy (Wellington)! Appeal Board, Bros. Britton, Letlmby. Wesley-Martin, Pollock and Gregory (all of Auckland).
