In the matter of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913/' and “The Municipal Corporations’ Act, 1920.” THE Palmerston 7 North Borough Council hereby gives notice that it proposes to raise a Special loan ot Five Thousand Pounds (£6000) at a rate of, interest not exceeding 6 per centum per annum, fo;r the purpose of enabling the said Council to construct and erect an Engine House and Workshop at the Municipal Abattoir, purchase of Electric Generators, Motors, Switchboard, Accessories, Beef Hoist, and Machinery required to Operate the Freezing Plant, and the dismantling and re-erection of tho present plant. And for, the purpose, of providing for the repayment of the said loan, and for the payment of interest and other charges on or in connection with the Special Loan and a sinking fund of one per centum per annum, to appropriate and pledge as security a special rate of One-Nineteenth of a Penny in the Pound Sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of tho Borough, on the basis of tho unimproved value; such rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be made and levied by resolution of the said Council to be passed after the said special loan has been agreed to by the ratepayers. The whole of the loan is to be repaid on the expiration of ten years from the date of raising same. , It is proposed to pay out of tho loan the cost of raising, the. loan and 1 the interest and sinking fund for the first year during the construction of the works.
