In the Supreme Court, in the case against Leon Myers, who was charged with the theft of a motor car, His Honour inti mated to the jury that the proper courat should have been civil proceedings to es tablish the car’s ownership. It would be dangerous at this stage for the jury to convict. This direction was accepted and a verdict of not guilty was returned. The pioceedings were not instituted by the police.
