LOCAL TOURNAMENT CONCLUDED.
The tennis tournament under the auspices of the Palmerston North Club was concluded on Saturday, the results of the concluding matches being as follows:
Ladies’ Handicap Doubles.—Semi-final; Mrs Caldwell and Mrs Wayrnouth defeated Misses N. Coombs and Robertson, 60-45. Pinal: Mrs Caldwell and Mrs Wayrnouth defeated Misses Hare and Daniell, 60-43. Combined Handicap Doubles. —Third round: McC’arroll and Mrs Caldwell defeated McMurray and Mrs McMurray, 60-54. Semi-finals: McCarroll and Mrs Caldwell defeated Gardner and Miss N. Coombs, 60-50: Tennent and Miss Collinson defeated Mead and Miss Loughnan, 60-49. Final: McCarroll and Mrs Caldwell defeated Tennent and Miss Collinson, 60-49-
