STOCK MARKET. Levin’s report on Feildiitg sale, Friday, September 22nd, 1922!—There was a small yarding’ of sheep and a good entry of cattle. Fat sheep were easier than at last week’s sale. Fats wore decidedly lower. A heavy yarding of all classes’ of cattle met with a pood sale, beef also stalling well. Good dairy stock made good money; inferior were hard to quit. The above were hold on Friday. All sections of the trade were represented and with good competition n strong market obtained. Sheepskins: Good parcels of halfbreds and fine crossbreds were keen at last ’ sale's rates and generally values were very firm. Sallies if anything sold better. Hides: Values for lots of quality and condition remained on a fimi basis with lust sale’s rates (heavies). Light and medium weights wore down about |d. Kip and yearling were on a par. Calf wore in demand and advanced fully £d per lb. Tallow ; No quotable change is reported. A, Eliott, Ltd., have received cable advice from Gilbert Anderson and Co. Ltd., London, of the following Smithfield prices for the week ending 22nd September, 1922, same being on the “delivered” basis, that is, including storage charges, cartage, etc:—North Island prime Down lambs under 361bs I2d, 3G-421bs llpt, 4250lbs lOJd; best North Island prime crossbred lambs under 421bs ll^d; ordinary North Island lambs, 421bs second quality 421bs Hid. Best North Island wethers and maiden owes 48-561bs 7ijd, 66-641bs 7j)d, 64-721bs 6|d; ordinary North Island wethers and maiden wes 48-561bs 7|(l, 56-641bs 74d, 64-721bs 6gd; North Island owes under 641bs 6d, 64-721hs s®d, over 7211)3 6|d.
