A successful dance in aid of tho Hiwinni school funds was held in the Burmythorpe Hall on Wednesday evening when there were about 100 couples present. A feature of the evening was the line music supplied by a jazz orchestra. During the evening a waltzing competition was held, the prizes being kindly donated by Mr A. H, McLean, of Feilding. Tho decision of tho judges, Messrs H. G. Wilton and B. Bowater, resulted in the first prize being awarded to Mr Olliver and Miss Balfour. Mr Print and Miss Cooper secured tlio second. Much praise for tlio success of tho evening is due to tho energetic secrete vies, Messrs Greenhow and McGaffin.
