LORD NORTHCLIFFE’S ESTATE.
ADMINISTRATOR APPOINTEE. LONDON, Aug. 30. Sir George Sutton has been appointed administrator of the late Lord Northcliffe’s personal estate, pendente litc.—A. and N.Z. cable. LONDON, Aug. 31. Sir George Sutton’s appointment under Izord Norlhclifle’s will was made on behalf of Viscountess NorthclilTo, who is executrix under the will of July 2. Under tho last will the Viscountess is entitled to the residue of the estate. Tho_ earlier will contained power to pay certain annuities and it was proposed to continue certain payments to the poor. —Reuter. control'oTthe times. SUGGESTION FOR TRUSTEES. "LONDON, Aug. 31, Mr Jolui Strachey, writing in the Spectator, says that in 1903 Lord Northclilio contemplated tho appointment of trustees to carry on the Times ns a national institution. Mr Strachey suggested the appointment of the Lord Chancellor, the Speaker, the Primate and tho Vice-Chan-collors of Oxford and Cambridge Universities, together with the editor and manager, in order to represent the elements in the community witn, which the Times was specially concerned. It is still unknown whether the idea has Iteon adopted in Lord Northclifle’s will. —A. and N.Z. cable.
