BOXING CHAMPION.
BRITAIN’S BEST MIDDLE-WEIGHT PRAISE GIVEN TO TODD. Received August 31, 8 a.m. . LONDON, Aug. 29. The Daily Chronicle’s boxing writer says that Todd is the best middleweight Britain, has known in recent years. His ability to hold off bis opponents with straight lefts to the face is quite up to championship form. Todd is a boxer, not a lighter. Pie is the only middleweight with a chance of beating Lewis, who took eleven rounds to boat Burns, while Todti was surprisingly out of all danger in the third. —A. and N.Z. cable,
