TO-AIORROW’S BIG AIATCII
AUSTRALIA v. MANAWATU,
The Alanawatu pootball Association are to be commended for their enterprise in guaranteeing and securing the visit of the now famous Australian representative “soccer” team. Clever foot control, smart and novel head work, machine-like combination, characterise the “Aussie’s” play, whilst they have been together just long enough to bo at their best, giving the finest exposition of the Briton's national game yet seen in New Zealand. It is in keeping with the importance of the visit that- the Aluyor has declared a half-holiday. As large crowds have been the rule everywhere else, and us to-morrow’s game is the last appearance of the “Aussie?”—they are sailing for Sydney the following day—a large and enthusiastic attendance is anticipated lo give them a hearty welcome to the district and make their liual game in New Zealand a. memorable one. Hie Alanawatu eleven is a much improved team to the winter show one, and should so extend tlio visitors as to produce a lively exhibition. Added interest is provided by a curtain-raiser at 1.30 p.m. Wellington 3rds v. Alanawatu B, the Wellington Association sending the team specially for the occasion. School boys will be admitted free, a special portion of the ground being reserved for them, The bimatch stalls at 2,30 p.m. Air John AIcCoIl, of Foxton, a one-time international soccer player, has received a special invitation from the association in Wellington to witness the Australia v.
