Olive Wendell Holmes used to ■say:— “Every new truth knocks the wind out of somebody.” THE machine guns ol erticism are never trained upon anything not big enough to hit—Chiropractic is big enough. Chiropractic has grown, in 27 years, from one man with a groat inspiration to 20,000 practitioners, and there isn’t power enough iu all the earth to keep sick people from using that which piakcs them well. TRUTH. The following extracts are taken from fetters to Truth, July 8 to issue, in reply to recent criticism : “The growth of Chiropractic in Ame“rica and other countries during the “past “few years is nothing short of “marvellous. No doubt this was “brought about largely by the splendid “results obtained by Chiropractic dur“ing the ’flu epidemic “it °whs shown by the National Statistics that where the orthodox treat-‘-incut was given there was one death “in 1G cases treated, whereas under “Chiropractic adjustments one death “occurred iu 836 oases. These astound ‘ ijirr figures brought Chiropractic to “the front, and since then it has “spread at a great rate. At present “there are over 20 States which hate “laws regulating Chiropractic and placing it on the same footing as medicine. Four or five of these have provided this protection wit!nn_ the last “year. Japan also has Chiropractic “legislation, this being brought about “since the Mikado’s daughter, who was “given up to die by the medical pio“fession, was completely restored by “adjustments given by Mr Kawaguchi, “who has since been created a Baro“net.” ANOTHER TRUTH. This is the vital and paramount thing that Chiropractic has done, can do, and will do—bring about the restoration of normal function, and •co-ordination in the human body, and normal function means HEALTH.
