AN INEFFACEABLE IMPRINT. SYDNEY. May 3. Ilillgrove, a small country town in New Souv.li Wales has recently come under public notice because of a phenomenon which has been discovered there, tor over twenty years the imprint of a woman s hand, wrist, and arm, perfect in all details, has existed on the back window o premises known as the Sydney Hotel, and which will in three week-.' tune be pulled down, and removed to Armidale. The phenomenon was known to lew, but since the building was vacated the news has spread, and the scene lias been visited by people from all parts, who agree thai tlie\ have never soen a more remarkable •spectacle. The mysterious hand, furthermore, with its gesturo of appeal, seems lo possess some magnetic fascination lor all who gaze upon it a curious feature, 'the most sceptical can test, for themselves. There is no question that the original imprint was made by a human being, and l)y a woman, who possessed a most shapely hand. Every line of the lingers, palm, and wrist, is clearly shown, and any eflort 10 remove a single'line seems only to make it more indelible. A close examination reveals thai the imprint is not in the glass, bin on it naturally. There has been much conjecture as to the origin- A close inquiry shows thai some twenty years ago a young married woman was found dead in the room, from an unusual cause. II is believed the imprint was made b\ her hand when endeavouring to attract attention, and that it appeared only alter the body was found. What is the explanation? What caused the ineffaceable imprint'.' The room has long been known as a ghost, haunt, but some materia] explanation may be possible from scientists.
