Commander Wild reports from South Georgia that he hoped to leave during May for Tristan da Cunha and Gough Island, spending u. week in each place, weather permitting, in order to thoroughly survey them. Trie Quest had been coaled and refitted. Extensive geological ami biological surveys in the northern and western portions of the Georgia group hud been completed, and they had also taken soundings of the sea approaches. It was intended to erect a cairn at Tirtyviken to Sir E. Shaolcloton’s memory before departure, Ail bunds were well.—Times.
