MEAT POOL BOARD.

SITTINGS LAST WEEK. An official report issued on Saturday stated that the New Zealand Meat Procers' Hoard hud boon sitting continuously at Wellington during the week under the chairmanship of Mr David Junes, M.J. 1 ., all the members being present. A very large amount of correspondence both from within and without New Zealand was dealt with, and the future activities of the board exhaustively discussed, and the foundations of a sound progressive policy laid. The board had a meeting with the representatives of. the shipping companies on Friday, and d'seusscd the possibility oi an early reduction in certain rates of Weight, also the methods by which the board can co-operate with shipping companies in securing improved methods and lower costs in loading produce in New Zealand. Mr W. D. Hunt was present at the meeting ot the hoard on Friday.

The board has secured permanent illices.
