ORIENT LODGE.
IM PORTA NT H ESOLGTION CA RR 1 HI)
At the regular meeting of the Orient Lodge last evening, Bro. J. Ax, acting N.G., presided over a large attendance. Bros. Monro and Northey wailed on the meeting as a deputation from Ihe Onward 'Pent of Recbahitcs, in connection with the question of a St. Helen’s Home. The meeting carried a resolution to the ell on that, in the opinion of members, nothing but a St, Helen’s Maternity Home would be in the best interests of Palmerston North, and protesting against any attempt being made to place it in the Public Hospital grounds. The resolution further urged the Minister of Public Health to open a St. Helen’s Home in Palmerston North, however small, with the money available, as soon its possible. The resolution is to be sent to the Minister.
A motion of congratulation was passed to P.G. Bro, R. Jordan on his appointment to the position of secretary to the Electric Power Board at Ashburton, it was resolved that- a swimming match be held this afternoon in the municipal baths in conjunction, with members of the Rang: like! Lodge.
