In some districts they have been the heaviest for years. Sydney’s holiday was dreary and disappointing. All the pleasure resorts were deserved, and the sportier; fixtures were abandoned. The special trams and ferries to the beaches and beauty spots carried practically the drivers and crews only. (‘ampers were washed out and compelled to make early tracks homeward. The small shopkeepers catering for the holiday Irallio were heavily hit, thomrh the music halls and theatres welcomed the illwind.—Press Association.
