MEAT AND DAIRY PRODUCE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —From numerous .sources of inhumation it seems that the Dinners oi Now Zealand are not getting; their meat and dairy produce marketed in (Ireal Britain to the host advantage. To remedy this the fanners of this country should appoint tlieir own Trade Commissioner, his duties to he absolutely confined to their commercial interests. A small tax of perhaps onoeiohth or one-sixteenth ot a pcnnx m the pound on all produce exported would pav the salary required, and if he could see that all our butter and meat was retailed as New Zealand produce', the expense would he more than compensated. _ It appears that Loudon is the world s dumping; ground lor surplus products. I believe a ready market could he found in America for a large quantity of our halter, and I am sure it behoves the farmers of this country to search lor new markets.—l am, etc., F. W. HUBBARD.
