WAGES OF RAILWAYMEN.
REDUCTIONS ACCEPTED. LONDON, August 9. The unions concerned have conferred with I lie railway managers, and have accept ed reductions in the railway workshops, employees’ and skilled artisans’ wages amounting to 6s weekly, coinciding with the second cut under the engineers’ agreement. One hundred thousand men will be allected. A. and N.Z. cable. LESS PAY FOR SEAMEN. Received August 11, 12.45 p.m. STOCKHOLM, August 10. The seamen have accepted a 20 per cent, reduction in wages—A. and N.Z. cable.
