WANGANUI PRESBYTERY.

The above Presbytery met at Marten yes. terday, when there were present: Rev. J. C. Loan (Moderator),. Revs. E. G. Evans, A. Uoull, T. Miller, J. Wilson, L. H. Hunt, D. Campbell, F. B. Barton, T. Halliday and J. Heard, Messrs 11. Billens, D. Robb, Scott, Tucker, P. H. Haase, Sutherland, Forbes, Lambert, J. H. Boyd and A. R. Munro. Apologies were sustained from Rev. E. R. Harries and Messrs J. Reid and McGregor. , , ... The Rev. A. Doull introduced Miss Cairns to the Presbytery, and she was welcomed by the Moderator, and addressed the Presbytery. , . , , The Rev. F. B. Barton submitted the itinerary proposed for Miss Cairns in the Presbytery. This was adopted. The Rev. D. Campbell laid on the table a cull from Wanganui East in favour of Rev. C. A. Kennedy. Tre stipend offered was £SOO. . Messrs J. Caird and White spoke in support of the call. It was a very heartv call .and the charge was united in making it. The call was sustained and the ordination of Mr Kennedy was list'd for April 20 in the Wanganui East Church. The Rev. J. Wilson"repotted that the Rev. Moßroy had'declined the call to Gonville. : . ’ It was' decided to discontinue the annual examination of congregational records and to lake them at the triennial visitation. It was also decided that in future, visitations commissions should be given Presbytorial powers to bring-their findings before the congregation on the night* of the visitation. r . The report of the Union Committee oi the Church was read and received. It was agreed, on the motion of Rev. A. Doull. to have copies typed for each member of the Presbytery, and that the matter come up for decision at next meeting. Mr J. S. Munro was appointed sole convener of the committee on minimum stipends. ' " ■ . It was intimated that Mr A. M. dimie hud been appointed to Ilalcombc. Several matters in connection with Shannon -were settled and the Presbytery adjourned to meet; in Marton on June 7.
