'Mailey.' At one stage the DouglasFender combination altered the whole complexion of the same giving the Australians qualms until the attack ol Maileyism arrived."
The Herald say,: " Mailcy's bowling was remarkable. No bowler previously had taken more than eight wickets in a test match. As in the previous tests, there were limes when England was in a hopeful position, but was unable to hold it. Australia was lucky. At his second knock Collins was dropped when only three. A public meeting of Armstrong's sympathisers adopted u resolution that the excuses given for Armstrong's exclusion from Ihe inter State match was unsatisfactory and that the selectors had lost the contidence of the public—Press As-oeiafion.
