At the 19th move Dunlop lost a piece by an error, but by a brilliant piece ■ol play he'later succeeded in mating Soverno on the 34th move. This game may take the prize for the best save. ■ Davies v. Coombs, Philidor defence. A vory even game until about tho 28th movo. Then Daviesi played well and Coombs resigned on the 34th move-
