MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMIT'! EE. A meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Hockey Association was held last night, the president, Mr M. 11. Oram, presiding. The Wanganui Association wrote suggesting July 31 as a suitable date for the Manawatu team to play in Wanganui. This date was accepted and it was decided to ask Wanganui to play a return match in I'aimerston North on August 4. The Auckland Association notified that a date, for a match between their representatives and Manawatu for the Shi -Id would be arranged after the Nelson and Hav-dec s Bav teams had been played. It was decided that a- learn of fourteen should he select/ d to commence training immediately in view of the big came and that unless members trained assiduously the Association wou.d have to abandon the trip. In view of the approaching New ladies' tournament to be held in Gisborno early in September, it was d'Cidod to instruct selectors to choose a team to rrproB»nt Manawatu, and it was agreed thai a la,lies' committee should be set no |o consider some method of raising funds towards the expenses of sending the team to braborne. . ~, I The Saturday men's comp ti'inn will lie continued for another two rounds.
