COAL MINES DISPUTE.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 10. Tho secretary of tho Mine Owners! Federation, in u lotter to the Minces' Fedoration, dated to-day, states that ho has been instructed to state, that tho members of tho Mino Owners' Federation are prepared to stereo to a further conference only on condition that tho chairman slial! have the power to decido unv matters that the- conference fails lo agree upon, and tiiiit his decisions shall bo final and binding- on .-'II parties. lie' understood the secretary of tho Miners' Federation to say, in reply to iiis telephone message.' that the Miners! Federation was not prepared to submit to the decision of tho chairman in these' matters, and that in the circumstances,- it was i;.m le:;:i going on with tho conference. The representatives of the Mine Owners' Federation will thercfoi-e- not attend this afternoon as arranged. The secretary of the Mine. Owners' Federatin adds, with reference to the refusal of the Miners' Federation to accept its own nominee as chairman, tint tho Mino Owners' Federation is still prepared to acceps Mr Hally if ho is given tho power to deride iinv matters left unsettled, if th'o Minors' Federation would prefer Mr llall.v to the I'rhne Minister in that capacity.
