MANAWATU HUNT.
The meet of the Manawatu Hunt on Saturday last was held at the Feilding reservoir, near Almadale, when there was a good gathering of followers and spectators. There wore two good runs, the drags being laid by Mr H. Br yce. During tho afternoon refreshments wore partaken of at Mr H. Burrell’s residence, and to him and Mrs Burrell a hearty vote of thanks was accorded on the motion of tho actingmaster (Mr N. J. Short). Amongst those riding on Saturday were the following:—Miss Kidd, on Peep o’ Day; Miss Clark, Mazeppo; Miss Clapham, Mickey; Messrs N. J. Short (actingmaster), Scout; J. Sexton (huntsman), Potomea; H. Bryce, Twilight: J. Crook, Ghori; J. Whittaker, Gipsy Dot; L. Little, Sprinkle; S. Shand, Laddie; W. Taylor, Chaban ; T. Taylor, Bnrlon; A. T. Free, Consul; W. H. Jacob, Silver Cloud: W. Young. Anthine; K. Storier, Greybird; 11. Lawrence, Puunriki; G. Short, Mirn; C. Strawbridge, Baron; L. Lowe, Brownie; Raliph Northcote, Jacko; J. C. Williamson, Nigger; E. Green. Meta. At a meeting of the Ball and Steeplechase Committee on Sataurday night, when Mr S. R. Lancaster (president) was in the chair, arrangements were made for the hunt ball to be held in tho Agricultural Hall on the Showgrounds on July 28, and the programme for the steeplechase meeting at Awapun> on-September 8 was adopted. . Additional fixtures for the hunting season were arranged ns follows; Saturday. July 3, -Rangitikoi line: Saturday,' Julv 10, To Matai; Wednesday, July 14, Kiwi tea.
