army council exonerates DYER.
LONDON. June 18. Tlio Sunday Express reports that the Aitov Council,' after considering General Dyer’s lengthy written statement, _ has decided to exonerate him, allowing him to retain his position in the army. This iooision roverpos the recommendation that General Dyer should resign made to the British Government by the Indian Government and Indian Commander-in-Chief. — (A. and N.Z. cable).
