WAR ON BACHELORDOM.

French girls' threaten to launch a militant propaganda war against bachelordora.

Marriageable young women of the middle classes are protesting that the male of the species is "shirking" wedlock, and wasting his time in cafes and racecourses. They would force the recalcitrants into connubial line by "taxing celibacy to their limit," and adopting propaganda and picketing methods that have won women's battles in other countries. Demonstrations in cafes and at racecourses are threatened.

"France has need of children," they declare, "to repair the losses of warand we are quite ready to fulfil our obligation to the country." While middle class feminity is in revolt the marriage rate is soaring among the Paris poorer classes.
