CONQUEST SUSPENDED. .', SEQUEL TO AVONDALE " STRIKE." Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 17.At a meeting of the Auckland District Committee, the jockey, J. J. Conquest, had his license suspended for the remainder of the season for breaking an engagement to ride at the Avondale races on April 10th. The committee expressed appreciation of the i'ranknefs of Conquest's explanation, and was sajtisfWl (hat in breaking his engagements, as he admitted, he honestly considered he was bound to join with the members of his Association, and that he was not a nromoter of the action complained of.
