THE DAVIS CUP. LONDON, June 10. A newspaper controversy is progressing regarding the British Isles Davis Cup selections owing to the eligibility of Randolph Lycett, also the New Zealander, F. AI. B. Fisher, to play in the British team according to the inter-national regulations, rule 9, seeing that Lycett was born in Birmingham and Fisher has qualified residentially. Both are playing a great game in the present tournament, showing tho strongest double throughout the country. 9 Some newspapers are urging Australia to resent their inclusion, but other critics explain that the Australians are fine sports and will not dream of offering any objection. —(Rehter.)
LONDON, June 14. France" and America will contest the Davis Cup at Eastbourne on July 3th. The Daily Chronicle states that Kingscote. Park and Fading officials find the proposal to select Lycett to represent England in the Davis Cup is objectionable. In tho trial at Amsterdam, Holland won the deciding match against South Africa. Raymond was unable to represent South Africa, owing to an accident. —(A. and N.Z. cable.)
