ENGLISH CRICKET.

PARKIN'S BOWLING PERFORMANCES.

LONDON, June 11. The first representative cricket mutch, Gentlemen versus Players, will be played at the Oval on June 30th. -Mr Warn<?r will pick the sides, which indicates that he must have the most powerful voice in selecting the team for Australia. Ho has invited Parkin, the Lancashire professional, to play on the 30th. The latter has the reputation of being the best bowler in England since Barnes. Parkin, like Barnes, prefers League cricket. Warner's invitation, and Lancashire's consent indicate that Parkin may be invited to go to Australia, despite the Marylebone ruling barring from representative matches nnd tours abroad players not pledging to assist the country when required. For Gloucester against Warwick, Parkin took six wickets for 48 runs, the lust five in 10 balls for no runs.—(A. and N.Z. cable).
