OBITUARY.

HE LATE MRS ROBERT MARSHALL.

Mrs Mary Marshall, who passed away it

Canterbury at the age of 85 years on January 12th, hail resided in the Dominion for 56 years. She was born at Clayhiden, in Devonshire, on April 6th, 1834. She married on April 4th, 1858. and loft England with her husband and three children in tho ship Acorington, on June 10th, 1863. They landed at lleathcote and, after spending two years in Ohristchurch, took iqt land at Cust, and started farming and ropemaking. After living there for 25 years, they removed to Styx, where they have resided for the past 29 years. Mrs Marshall was predeceased by her husband, Robert Marshall, by live years. Sho had nine children, seven of whom are still living. These are John Marshall, farmer, Styx; Rev. William Marshall, Presbyterian minister at Tinwald; Robert .Marshall, Shirley, late of Belfast, and Arthur Marshall, ac countant in tho G.P.0.," Wellington ; Miss Lucy Marshall, Western Australia; Mrs Corkin, Styx, and Mrs A. P. Brown, Ashhurst. There aro eight grandchildren living.
