Lloyds' register shows nearly. 3,000,000 tons n( shipping was being built in the United Kingdom at 31st December, an increase of 177,000 compared with 30th September, and over n million.tons move than at 31st December, 1918. The present totaJ ■includes 55 vessels of 10.000 lons and upwards. Nearly 5,000,000 tons is being built, abroad, a decrease of 265.000 compared with 30th September. Owing to the decrease, half a million in. tonnage is building in the United Slates. The world's total of nearly 8.000,000 tons is about 187,000 lower than at 30th September.
