j Tho death has taken place at Wellington of an old identity in tho person of Mr Judah Myers, aged 89 years. I Mr Aubrey Barclay, editor of the Sydney Sunday Tinies, and son of Captain W. M. R. Barclay, of Wellington, is at present on n visit to Now Zoaland. . Mr Stark, electrical engineer to the Christchurch City Council, is on a visit to Palmerston* North in rosponse to an in vitution from the Borough Council. Major C. R. Curr, D.F.C. who was iri command of the No. 2 squadron, R.A.F.. North Russia, is at tho present time in London, and will bo returning to New Ze.i land at an early date. . Mr and Mrs J. B. Clarkson, well known in this district, are now touring tho North Island by motor car, and expect to arrive in Palmorston North this evening from Nupior. Mrs Clarkson recently arrived in Sydney from America and England, where she joined Mr Clarkson, and they then crossed to New Zoaland by the Mooraki, arriving in Wellington last Monday. They will bo staying at tho Club Hotel. A resolution of condolence with the re . latives of tho late Mrs G. M. f Snelson wa? passed at last night's mooting of tin Borough Council, the Councillors standing in silence. Mr J. A. Nash, the mover, eaid that in 40 years' residence in Palmerston North he had always esteemed tho late Mrs Snelson as an enthusiastic worker ID many public causes. Especially did he remember her activities in connection with a bazaar by which tho funds for tho establishment of tho Palmerston North Hospital benefited larpely. The lato Mr Snelson'? manifold public' efforts were also referred to, he having been Mayor of tho town for a number of years. An interesting wedding took place at St. Paul's Prosbytorian Church, Feilding, yesterday, tho contracting parties being Mr Walter Dobson, of Dannovirko, only son of Mr J. Dobson, of Tolaga Bay, and Miss Ethol Mary Mills, second daughter of Mr and Mrs T. L. Mills, of Feilding. The bride has -been for some timo on the litorary staff of tho Feilding Star, of which papor nor father is editor, and Mr Dobson is connected with the Dannevirke Borough Council and several other local bodies. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming, as did tho bridesmaids, Misses Dorothy and Marjorio Mills. Mr I. N. Brons, of Dannevirke, was best man. Tho wedding ceremony was performed by tho Rev. Thns. Miller, M.A., tho church being prettily decorated. Mrs James officiated at tho organ. After the ceremony, afternoon tea was served at Mr Mills' residence. Among tho presents were gifts from various local bodies wi€h which Mr Dobson is connected. Numerous telegrams of congratulations were received bv tho happy couplo, who left for the South by motor car.
