NATIONALISTS AND FARMERS LEADING.

Although several candidates have improved tueir positions there is no actual alteration in the Federal election figures. An unusual state_ of affairs exists in Tasmania, where the indications are that unless the unexpected happens live Representative seats and four Senate vacancies will'bo filled by Nationalists and Farmers, leaving the Tasmanian Labour Party without •representation for the first time in its history. This is attributed to the preferential voting which in some quarter’s is regarded as unsatisfactory. The counting is practically exhausted except for absentee votes. Tho counting of tlio first preference in the Senate votes is not expected to be corn plotod until Saturday week, when a start will be made with the final scrutiny.
