FMt& MINISTER'S" TOUR

After leaving Palmerston North yesterday the Prime Minister proceeded by motor car to 'Woodvillc and Danhevirke. At the latter place lie addressed a meeting in the Town Hall, when there was a very lftrgo attendance. He received a good reception, and at the conclusion of his address three cheers were given for Mr Massey. Later cm he went to Napier, where lie addressed a meeting of about 2000 people. He was well received by a large section of the audience, but there was considerable interruption from a section of those _present. The Prime .Minister spoke on the lines of his address yesterday in Palmerston North, stressing the necessity for increased production. He also dealt with the question of the meat trust, which Ik- said be would- never allow to become established in.this country. The riueston of shipping was mentioned, and he stated that the Government intended to see that sufficient shipping was available to export our produce, and if necessary vessels would be purchased. He had received a telegram stating.that ten insulated ships would be available fov February; these, after allowing for dairy produce, would, carry 91o,UUU freight! carcases. There was space available in January for 477,000 carcases, making a total of 1,392,000 M the two months. This news would be welcome all over New Zealand, A vote of thanks was carried amidst oyerI whelming cheering and applause.

Mr Aleldrum, the Liberal candidate for Ramritikei, spoke at. Marton last evening and hod a pood hearing. Ho. condemns the tactics of the Labour leaders and • felt that Labour could not win. -He urged tiie electors to vote, for the Liberal candidate and not to split the vote. He was accorded a voto of thanks.
