A Dunedin -messago states that Mr Robert Dow, 73 yean*-of age, was founddead in the bath at his home on Sunday. * He was a well known builder, a keen bowler and played in the club match on Saturday. His death is believed to be due to heart failure. The funeral of the late Mr Chaa. Warn© took place at Ashhurst yesterday afternoon. The cortege was a long one, friends from adjacent districts attending to pay their last respects. At the graveside addresses were delivered by Messrs S. Raise and W. Allwright. Our sympathy is extended to the widow and family.—Ashhurst correspondent.
Sir Joseph Ward was a passenger to Wellington by the Main Trunk express train from Auckland yesterday, passing through Palmerston North in the _ morning. He spoke at Wellington last night and thia morning left by the New Plymouth train for Marton, wher*3 ho will deliver an ad-
