The biggest highway robbery during recent years occurred in North-west Cork. Masked thieves, wearing their clothes inside out, with bags tied over their boots,'held up two bank managers going to a fair, and robbed them ot £IB,OOO sterling. The managers were armed with revolvers, but were gagged and tied up to the Wheels of their cart while the highwaymen emptied tho money bags and escaped.
